NRI INSTITUTE OBSERVES NRI DIVAS 2016 AND HOSTS AWARDS NIGHT
NRI Institute on Monday, January 11, 2016, observed the Annual NRI Divas to give recognition to People of Indian Origin living in India and abroad for their outstanding achievements in the chosen field of activities and their contribution to the socio-economic development of India along with the country of their adoption.
General V K Singh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Statistics and Programme Implementation, Minister of State for External Affairs and Minister of State for Overseas Indian Affairs was the Chief Guest on the occasion and congratulated the Indian Diaspora for their significant contribution to the development of the country. He hoped that in the coming years, the bond will only get stronger.
Manu Jagmohan Singh, Secretary General, NRI Institute, welcomed the guests and invoked his father, Late Sardar Jagmohan Singh, who established the Institute and came up with the concept of an NRI Divas, 28 years ago. “My father started the NRI Institute that brought foreign-based Indians closer to their roots and facilitated partnerships that have helped the country surge ahead in the global scenario. I have received this legacy and now aspire to contribute towards it in ways that will leave a similar legacy for the future generations,” he said.
